Easter workshop

We are egg-cited to be back!

When- 1st of April 11am-3pm
Where- World Museum, William Brown St L3 8EN

Merseyside Polonia are incredibly excited to invite you to our Easter workshop at World Museum. We are bringing back our traditional Easter crafts to share with you all; big and little ones! Our volunteers will guide you through each stage of decorating egg, card-making and other Easter themed crafts. You will find us on the top floor of World Museum awaiting you and your family to join in the Easter fun. Let your children (and yourself too!) have a creative and fun day while learning about Polish traditions and culture.
Dye your own pisanka, or have a go at making Easter Palm! We have enough yarn, paper and googly eyes for everyone!

This year we are honoured to share the day with our Ukrainian friends who will share their Easter traditions.

This Easter, let’s take a moment to reflect on what truly matters in life.
May you feel the love and comfort of your friends and family, and may the joy of this special day bring a smile to your face.

All Souls’ Night

‘Darkness all around, silence all round, what’ll happen, what’ll happen?’ Is a famous line from Adam Mickiewicz’s four-part poetic drama Dziady (Forefathers’ Eve). How does, however, Mickiewicz’s work relate to the upcoming and commonly known celebration of Halloween? 🤔

❗️SAVE THE DATE: 30.10.2022 – 4.30 pm

❗️VENUE: Clearview Scout Hut, L18 8DB, Mossley Hill, Liverpool

The Forefather will start our event with a greeting from the beyond👻 Your ears will be filled with stories that will keep your senses awake all night …

Inspired by the introduction, we will decorate the masks while drinking delicious (alcohol-free;)) mulled wine. That is just the beginning!🎃 Among our attractions, we also have a procession with the intention of saying goodbye to things we no longer wish to have or be. The Forefather will lead the event. We will listen to some motifs from Mickiewcz’s ‘Forefathers’ Eve’.

For those who love the autumn atmosphere in the open air, we have a fire dance show, campfire, barbeque and music🔥🎶🍗 All the above will be accompanied by traditional drinks and snacks:

✔️ Bread with butter

✔️ Wine sausages

✔️Non-alcoholic mulled wine

✔️ Tea

The end of October has never been so exciting! Join us!

Zaduszki Ogniowe

„Ciemno wszędzie, głucho wszędzie, co to będzie, co to będzie?” grzmiał w swoim utworze „Dziady część II”, znany wszystkim Polakom wieszcz Adam Mickiewicz. Ale co wspólnego mają słowiańskie Dziady ze zbliżającym się i znanym powszechnie świętem Halloween? 🤔

❗️ZAPISZ ADRES: Clearview Scout Hut, L18 8DB, Mossley Hill, Liverpool

❗️ZAPISZ TERMIN: 30.10.2022 – 16:30

Wydarzenie rozpocznie Dziad, który powita Was z zaświatów! 👻 Wasze uszy wypełnią się tajemniczymi historiami, które nie pozwolą zmysłom spać tej nocy…

Silent Land screening and Q&A

Free screening of Silent Land and Q&A with director – we are delighted to say we are partners with this engaging and thought-provoking event.

The screening is organised by Cinema Social Club and POMOC – Polish Migrants Organise for Change

and will feature a special Q&A with the director Aga Woszczyńska live online, led by Honorata Mikołajew, founder of Cinema Social Club, and a behind-the-scenes look at how and why the film was made. It will be followed by an open conversation with local Merseyside organisation representatives, leaders and activists from Cinema Nation, Heart of Glass, Merseyside Polonia and POMOC.

We invite you to watch the film, join the discussion, and hear ideas for how to support local community initiatives, including around migrants rights.

This screening is the first in a series of events in Liverpool using cinema to spark discussion about controversial issues.

Sunday, 16th October 2022, Doors open 5.30pm/Film 6pm/Discussion 8pm

The Quarry, 17 Love Lane L3 7DD Liverpool.
